1. A school for the teaching of music, drama, or other fine arts. 2. A structure chiefly used for growing flowers, plants, and outof- season fruits and vegetables under protected conditions; it is attached to a dwelling, in contrast to a greenhouse which serves the same purpose but is usually a separate structure in a garden or field.
