1. A continuous cross-connection or interconnection such that the flow of water from one system to the other may occur under the slightest pressure differential
between the two piping systems.

2. Any connection (such as a shutoff valve) between a potable water-supply line and a nonpotable source at which there is the possibility of contaminating the water supply should the valve (a) leak or (b) be opened when it should be closed.direct
